Friday Mashup #4- Let's Get Punchy "Baby"

This week at the Friday Mashup, Kim is challenging us to get Punchy Baby!  Everyone else on the team created ADORABLE baby cards, but I decided to just get punchy for this challenge!

This week at the Mashup, we hope you will try one of these three options:
  1. Create a card with punches (like me)
  2. Create a baby card
  3. Create a baby card using punches
Today I decided to create a card with Punches and was inspired by fellow Canadian and fellow BC'er, Carrie Gaskin aka the Artistic Avenger.  I wonder if she is cheering on the Canucks too!!?  Anyways, back to the card!!  She used the Cupcake Punch in a new way which was to create a purse. I loved this idea and have stored it away in my brain for another day!  (Click HERE to see Carrie's Purse Card) Well the time has come and I made a little purse themed card for a friend!

I hope you will come and join us at the Friday Mashup!  Thank you to all my blogging pals who joined me last week in my Black and White challenge, I loved all of your creations!!!

Summer Splash PPA 90-Summery Fun!

This weekend brought some awesome weather.  On Friday and Saturday, I had laundry out on the line, drying in the sunshine!  It was fabulous!  Today we had a lot of rain! So I wanted to try to recapture the sunshiny feeling I had early on this weekend!  Stampin' Up has a Summer Mini Catalogue coming up on May 1st!  I pre-ordered and one of the sets is a fun summery set, that I would usually not pick!  But this time I ordered it and I love it!!!  It is so cute and perfect for kids' cards!!!

So with the sketch at Pals Paper Arts, I decided to get out my new summery set and using some bold colours, created this fun card!!!  I am not sure if I love it but I had fun creating it!

I inked up the surfboards with my Pacific Point and Rich Razzleberry Markers and then stamped the image!  The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases!  I mounted it on the Modern Label and Word Window Punches!!!  And I completed the inside with this cute little fishy that it also part of the set!

That is it for me!  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend like I did!  I am recharged and ready for a big week back at work!

Picture Perfect Creations #56

This week at the Picture Perfect Creations our colours are SO pretty!  I love blues and these colours influenced me to get out some watercolour paper and to use my aqua painter!  I inked up my daisy from Fifth Avenue Floral and stamped in Stazon on Watercolour Paper.  Then using markers and my aqua painter, I coloured them with Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy Inks.

I wanted to created some leaves out of the Pear Pizazz Paper and used my Bird Punch!  I love how quick and easy the punches are to use!  I also had a Baja Button and added to the side with a wee bit of Victoria Lace Ribbon.  The sentiment is from All Holidays.

I used my FAVOURITE background stamp set En Francais and sponged all the corners of the Baja Breeze paper with Baja Ink.  Also used the Scallop Edge Border Punch for the main strip going across the card!!!

Paper Players Challenge #44- A Sketch from Me

Happy Easter everyone!  It is Sunday and time for another Paper Players Challenge!  This week I am the challenge hostess and have designed a sketch!

I was very excited to receive my Stampin' Up Pre-Order on Wednesday night!  I broke open the set called "Fabulous Florets" and went to work!  I absolutely LOVE it!!  It is a "fabulous" set that will be available May 1st!  I got out my Paper Snips and cut out the flower and popped it up on dimensionals!

I am on a new colour kick!  I absolutely love Peach Parfait and have used it on my card today!  My colours are Peach Parfait, Pear Pizazz and Not Quite Navy.  That ribbon is retired, it was from my first stamping year! LOL!  The Colour is called Blue Bayou and it was on of my most favourite In Colours that Stampin' Up has offered!  I cleaned up my ribbon stash this weekend and decided to use this ribbon on my card!

I also needed to make a birthday card for a dear friend who is celebrating her birthday in a couple of days!  This card won't get to her in time but I am sending it off to her to let her know that I am celebrating with her, even though we are far apart!

I used the En Francais Background Stamp in Peach Parfait ink on Peach Parfait Paper!  I love how it looks!  I also used my Modern Label punch for the side of my card and yep, I finished off the inside too!  I love doing that!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you will get the opportunity to join us this week at the Paper Players!  Please let me know if you have any questions about my card!  I also want to thank all my blogging friends for your supportive comments over the last couple of weeks!  I appreciated ever single one!

Hugs!

Yippee!!! I am SO excited!!

This week at the Friday Mashup I am the challenge hostess!!  Yesss!!!  This week I have asked the team to craft in Black and White!  You should see what they created! Wow!  I found these cute teapots and thought they would be good inspiration for all you crafty people out there!  As well as the Black and White theme, we are going Square!!!

  1. Create a Black and White Card
  2. Create a Square Card

I decided to Mashup it up Baby!  My creation is clean and simple.  I love this stamp from the "Because I Care" Hostess Level 1 set.  It stamped beautifully in Black!  I also got out my favourite Crimping Tool and added a crimp to the black paper behind the main image...I love that crimper!

PPC Specialty Challenge #6- Easter

Hello Stampin' Friends!!!  It is my second week as a DT member over at Picture Perfect Creations!  I am enjoying designing ahead for the many colour challenges that are coming up and this week is a Specialty Challenge!  The theme is Easter.

I have lots of different Easter Stamps but I wanted to use a new one I got with my last Stampin' Up Order called "Something to Celebrate".  I married it with the "Bold Blossom" stamp set from the current mini-catalogue.

The colours I chose this week are Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzaz and Whisper White.  I actually designed this card for a workshop I held a couple of weeks ago!!!  I love Peach Parfait, it is such a nice alternative to orange!  The little flowers are punched out with my 3/4" circle punch and I had to add some bling to each one.

Come on over to Picture Perfect Creations and join us for a little Easter card making challenge.  I am looking forward to visiting your blog!

Smiles,
Lesley

Paper Flowers for Pals and Stampin' Royalty

This week at the Pals Paper Arts, they have a great challenge which is all about Spring Flowers and the Stampin' Royalty also has a Spring theme!  These are some of the daffodils that are in our front yard! Hooray, Spring is here!

I wanted to try to make my own paper daffodils and had some fun!  I used Jaydee's awesome sketch at the Paper Players!  My flowers were created using the Fun Flowers Die and the Boho Blossoms Punch.  I used Daffodil Delight Paper of course!

This card is so bright and cheery in real life!  I think this will be the card I do with my Stamper's 6 Club this month!  I used the new Designer Paper called "Paisley Petals" and the sentiment from "Because I Care" is stamped inside one of the new "Four Frames" images.  The Paper and the Four Frames stamp set is available to purchase this month and hostesses can earn them for free!  So exciting!

Here is another picture of our overgrown but vibrant garden!  If you have any questions about my paper flowers, please let me know!

Paper Players #43 ~ CAS Sketch Challenge

This week at the Paper Players, Jaydee has designed a clean and simple sketch for you to try! I loved the sketch and decided to take my card tall instead of wide.  I asked Jaydee, and she said it was ok to do that!!!! Thanks Jaydee!

I have a whole pack of the Sweet Stitches Paper and I haven't really used it, so I got it out for this card!  I just love these sewing machines...this paper is really fun!  My colours are Daffodil Delight and Rose Red with a Garden Green Button.  As you can glimpse inside, I used some more paper on the inside of the card to finish it off.

The button is left over from my Christmas stash!  I threaded the button will a little piece of Whisper White paper, I love that trick!  The Rose Red Ribbon is from the Clearance rack, gotta love that!  The Punch is the decorative Label punch which is quickly becoming one of my favourites.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you get the chance to head on over to the Paper Players Challenge Blog and join us for this sweet and simple sketch this week!

More Exciting News!!!

Oh boy!!  What a great week!  I have some more exciting news to share! I was chosen to be on the Picture Perfect Creations Design Team!! I am looking forward to the weekly challenges because they will encourage me to get out of my comfort zone!  The colours this week are fun: So Saffron, Not Quite Navy and Riding Hood Red.

This week is my first challenge with these wonderful ladies and I have to admit, I did not know where to start with these colours!  I decided to ink up my Friendly Words Wheel in Riding Hood Red ink and inked the Riding Hood Red paper.  I love the tone on tone look and it creates a nice background.

Then I got out Mr. Big and using my Floral Fusion Die, I made some Saffron flowers for the side of the card.  I used three flowers. I also got to use some Riding Hood Red striped grosgrain ribbon that I had bought from the Stampin' Up Clearance Rack.

The sentiment is from the stamp set is called "Word Play" and I love the many sentiments that come with it!  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you get the chance to visit the Picture Perfect Creations Challenge Blog and play along with us this week!!

Paper Players Colour Challenge #42 ~ Happiness

Sunday is here and that means there is a new challenge at the Paper Players Challenge blog!  This week, Ann has given us some bright and cheery colours to work with!  I love these colours and hope you do too!  Just a warning...you made need sunglasses to view my card!!! LOL!

I decided to pull out and dust off my Daisies Die...I love this floral die for the Big Shot and don't know why I don't use it more often!  The main flower is cut out twice in the Poppy Parade colour and then fluffed up a bit on dimensionals.  Then I used my 3/4" circle punch for the So Saffron centre.  The centre circle is also stamped with Saffron Ink and the dots stamp from my "For All You Do" set.  I love gerber daisies...they make me happy!  So I used the "Happiness" sentiment from the "Fabulous Phrases" set.  In fact my bridesmaids all had burnt orange gerber daisies for their bouquet!

Thanks for stopping by!  Come on over and play with the Paper Players!  I can't wait to see what you create with these colours!
